Twisungane farming group with Deo, 2015

Our farming group had land that was unused due to the difficulty in irrigation
We had meeting with group members
We took notes and listened to the their concerns

In june, 2016 we partnered with the Rwanda Agriculture Board to provide the farmers with irrigation equipment as a loan
The irrigation equipment in use
The total cost of the equipment was $3000.00
Te results were a 200% – 300% increase in food production in just 2 months
Twisungane group had their first food surplus in the dry season
The group is now focusing on growing for local markets
Deo continues to work with farmers on better farming methods and accounting practices
We are seeing more and more healthy plants that fetch the best prices at market
